I am also in the same boat. Current after 2 years. My buddies with similar PD got lucky in 2008. Will have to wait till August to test mine. Congrats to all those got current and good luck to all those waiting. Hopefully dates will move forward in some reasonable order from now on. Thanks.

Why would this website suddently decide to convert to a paid website? There is a link right on the top requesting funds / contributions, right? People who have resources / are willing to contribute will do it. Look at the postings of the core members who actually started this website. Did they ever make a harsh statement regarding the site visitors who have not contributed? Personally I havn't seen one yet, have you? They are very diplomatic in their efforts and thats what makes them leaders. We dont want juveniles to start dictating regulations in this forum. Lets leave these decisions to mature people who have insight in their decisions, OK. Actions taken when you are emotionally disturbed will do nothing but harm you and the rest of us. This site is and should remain a non paid. I have contributed a small amount sofar, however have found a very pleasant and enjoyable community here at the IV. I know many have contributed much more than me. Please remember that this website / core group efforts all began probably as a selfless act by a group of youngsters to benefit our legal immigrant community. Let not our emotions guide us but let reason guide us in our decisions and the best approach would be to let the core group decide. Now if they decide sternly that this can be run only as long as all the visitors/beneficieries contribute then I dont know what to say. Contributions were all voluntary and should remain voluntary. Some of those who support a paid website seem to be VERY AGITATED. If you are agitated while spending money then think twice before contributing. Dont expect everybody to do do exactly what you do.
This is a perfect example of how an argument can be twisted and turned around. So you would prefer Pappu or 3 other members to have a funding drive for ever instead of having a constant flow of money? No one questioned the intentions of core members or people who started the website. They not only started this as a place where we can discuss issues, but also as a place where people in similar situations can come together as a community and contribute towards the cause. The contribution is both monetary and personal time. Both grass root efforts and lobbying will bring success. I personally, (who has been vocal on the thread) am not agitated that I am paying and xyz is not paying. People do not see a need to pay for IV because they are getting what they want. Every one on their heart of hearts know what kind of platform we have built here and without $$ it all means nothing. An hour before I spoke with a NPR news reporter and she asked me if I were calling on behalf of IV as soon as I explained the VB fiasco. Its our choice to support through contributions or to undermine the main agenda of the organization.

Somebody with Nov05 PD tried to renew EAD and was given a 3 month EAD.......
Use of "01" instead of "10" has been common mistake by USCIS. I came across couple of such cases. This is typo error and they will fix it.

I filed for 485 during July 2007. My 140 was already approved. Due to some problems I quit my employer in August 2007. My previous employer was a desi blood sucker. I was fed up & decided to quit after working for him for 3 years. I applied for H1 transfer with a new employer based on approved 140. I got H1 approval for another 3 years. Currently I am working for the new H1 sponsoring employer. I also received an EAD card based on pending 485 for one year. I didnt notify USICS of job change in July.
I applied for EAD extension this year. The application for EAD extension is pending. I got a following RFE on my 485:

c'mon guys...instead of just hoping lets participat ein IV campaigns...it makes no sense that EB2 wud move a lot...just think abt it...there are just too many of...now that everyone jumped from EB3 to EB2...it would have been wise to continue with ur EB3 application.
We need to get the a comprehensive fix to our problems..
Remember the way USCIS moves dates is based on how many applications they think they can process based on their resources..its not based on utilizing the country quotas for a particular year...hence the reason for loosing so many Immigrant VISAS every year..lets try to fix that...rather than hoping dates wud magically move.
Even if they move, I bet 90% of ppl who become current wud not get their GC in that particular month, and then the dates wud retrogress back to 1955 or "U" again.....
Concentrate on the big picture and IV drive to get Admin fixes...thats teh only real solution.

Once I went to Staples to make photocopies of my passport and the lady suggested it is illegal to make photocopies of such documents unless the copy size is at least 50% bigger.
I like the idea anyway given the small details in the passport. So I've been doing that whenever I have to make copies.
This post has been an awakening to me. I have traveled in and out of northern NH numerous times but have never ever had this happen to me. Such incidents renew the reality for me that I am just a temp here.

This is just a stunt. WHy did she wait allthese days to write this letter. Now when everything falls in place by others efforts, she wants people to think it is because her effort all these things are happening. I hate murthy or your murfhy.

Maybe she took all the time in doing the ground work which she had mentioned in her letter. Think in a positive way. Sending bunch of flowers and getting the media attention does not solve the problem. There should be some one who can speak directly to the concerned persons and that is what sheela murthy is doing. Let her make her efforts.

we will have to ask for more pointed info rather than ask for all the info at once.
My suggestion is for a few of us to ask USCIS for just EB - 2 India, China and ROW and another for just EB-3 India, China and ROW. Maybe we might get a faster response that way.

I agree. I tried to see if there is a way FB category in 2009 might have received a spillover from EB. But thats almost impossible given EB is severely backlogged.
Another way to verify unused 13K in 2009 EB would be to check 2010 FB limit. If there were unused visas from EB in 2009 then they go back to FB in 2010.
Finally, per Ron unused is not same as wasted. Unused is unassigned. Wasted is .... assigned but action is not taken to close the case. If that is the case then wasted visas won't be available .... neither inside or outside category. It is frightening to think that with so many preadjudicated cases USCIS might be wasting visas! I don't believe this .... but if true ... it is outrageous.
I have asked to Vin13 if he/she can get source of information from Ron. If you have good contact with him can you ask for source of info ? Any link to USED vs waste number. Or even any link that made definition of USED visas and waste visas and their number for last year ? I am serious to get this fix this time , if I get a link to some document that clarify. Yes was similar to yours. The status did change to Review. They just got it yesterday and I saw hard lud yesterday and a soft lud today. I did not know how my Attorney responded or worded it, I just sent him the EVL from current employer.
Mine also should have reached yesterday. Didn't see any LUD. I am really nervous.

i really dont care, i still think interfilers and substituters should get what they derserve. every single bit of it. may they really, truly, go to hell, and stay there indefinitely.
and NO, dont preach to me about trying to "fix" the system. the agenda here is mostly EB3, and mostly Indian, at best. the multitudes of diploma holders get pissed when i call them out for what they are...........why are THEY so sensitive and ashamed???
i have a RIGHT to be in the proper EB queue, which i EARNED, and did not employ cheap desi-employer tricks and other games to get into........if that does not answer your doubts my friend, then as i said earlier, ban me..........i dont really care either way.

I am yet to see any legal basis in the case which states that DoS has to give notice of x days before changing the visa bulletin. All it says that they have "policy" of visa bulletin good for a month. Such policies, unless backed by legal basis, are not enforceable.
